Last week I had made the decision to raze Anthology Gateway and start over because of how out of date the application was.
This week I focused on tooling and the foundation for the new site. Deciding what frameworks and tools I will build this new application on, and then learning those tools, made for a frustrating week. This tedious work of setting everything up just seems to take so long to get the tiniest work done that it feels unsatisfying.
But it must be done. A strong foundation will allow the rest of the application to be built quicker, and it will be more stable and free of security issues. At least as free as we can make it.
But the hard work continued and despite all of the insane snow that we had last week I was able to complete the first Milestone of this project!
If all goes well, next week we will have the new application up and capable for publisher registrations. This means you can add your publishing company to the index so it can be searched for, and you can announce your upcoming Anthology project!
You won’t be able to accept submissions yet, but that’s coming soon.
We are looking for any project that would be willing to be a Guinea Pig! If you are interested make sure to contact me on Twitter/X. Of course it will be free of charge and for being willing to help during the initial phases of this project you will be given some additional benefits as well.
Finally, if you are interested in what progress is happening on the site almost daily, then check out our daily updates on the forum!
See you next week!
